The first Buick automobile was produced in 1903 within months of Walter L. Marr returning from the Marr Auto Car Company.  His return was due to the tragic fire at the Fauber Manufacturing plant, which produced the Marr Auto Car, in Elgin, Illinois.

We enjoy collecting brass era Buicks because they have Mr. Marr’s design fingerprints all over them.  He worked tirelessly getting Buick and then GM ahead of the pack in technology and innovation.  The Valve in Head design gave Buicks the edge in power and reliability to make them special.

We are happy to share our cars- W. Barton Close

We collect Buicks because Walter L. Marr, my great grandfather, was Buick and GM’s first chief engineer.  His legacy and our’s is tied to the Buick Motor Company, early GM, and Walter L. Marr’s genius and creativity.
